Brought to you by In Search Of, this is the second in a series on nervous system regulation as a key unlock to sleep and healthy living, featuring LA-based Dr. Sogol Ash. The presentation explores functional medicine approaches to nervous system regulation and sleep optimization. Topics include stress physiology, circadian rhythm support, and brain recovery, with practical applications across nutrition, supplementation, and emerging therapies designed to improve sleep quality, cognitive performance, and long-term resilience.

The inspiration

The talk is inspired by a growing recognition that many modern health concerns (poor sleep, chronic stress, cognitive fatigue, metabolic dysfunction, and burnout) are not isolated problems, but manifestations of nervous system dysregulation. In high-stimulus, high-demand environments, the body is locked in a sympathetic (“on”) state, compromising sleep quality, recovery, and long-term resilience. The space itself emphasizes presence, creating a natural setting to explore how restoring balance to the nervous system can improve how we sleep, think, recover, and function day to day.

What makes this unique?

This conversation is uniquely designed for 113 Spring, a space intentionally created to support presence through architecture, light, and sensory restraint. Rather than treating nervous system regulation and sleep as abstract clinical topics, the discussion situates them within an environment calibrated to reduce cognitive load and support parasympathetic balance. The session bridges functional medicine and spatial experience, exploring how nervous system health, circadian alignment, and recovery are influenced not only by internal interventions such as nutrition, supplementation, and peptide-informed protocols, but also by the physical conditions in which the body operates.
