How it works

1. Plant Your Seed of Intention
Begin your journey by identifying a personal intention or area of focus. This “seed” that you choose before your arrival helps shape your experience and guides your subconscious exploration.

2. Settle In and Connect
After you arrive at 113 Spring, relax in the specially designed vibroacoustic chair, surrounded by soft lighting and a calming environment. You'll wear a gentle, non-invasive EEG headband that monitors your brainwaves in real time.

3. Multisensory Immersion
Let yourself be guided through a meditative journey combining visual art, adaptive soundscapes, and soothing vibrations. The experience adapts to your unique brainwave patterns and emotional state in real time.

4. Journey Into Liminal States
As you immerse yourself in the sensory environment, your mind moves into a liminal state—between waking and dreaming—where creativity, insight, and deep presence naturally arise.

5. Integration & Reflection
After the sensory journey, you'll have time to gently return and journal any insights, ideas, or creative sparks that emerged during your experience. This reflective moment helps you anchor your discoveries and carry them forward.

The science

Emergence is created using Kinda Studios’ Science-Informed Design process that integrates neuroscientific research, neuroaesthetic design, and real-time neurotechnology to guide guests into altered states characterized by alpha/theta brainwave dominance. Combining intention setting, neural entrainment, personalized biofeedback, and multisensory immersion—including adaptive music and vibroacoustic stimulation—Emergence fosters emotional regulation, mental restoration, and enhanced creative insight. This evidence-based approach offers a rigorous, immersive pathway to transformative well-being and cognitive expansion.

Composition
Working with pioneering composer Robert Thomas, an expert in adaptive and generative functional music for health, the composition includes binaural beats, low-frequency drones, ASMR, and pink noise—elements known to support relaxation, trance states, and brainwave entrainment.

Vibroacoustic Stimulation
Vibroacoustic stimulation translates low-frequency sounds into vibrations via the custom-designed ShapedSound chair, creating a visceral, felt dimension of the experience. Participants report that this enhances relaxation and nervous system regulation, supporting deeper states of calm.

What makes this unique?

FAQs

What is an EEG headset?

An EEG headset is a device that measures electrical activity in the brain. It does this using sensors placed on the scalp that detect brainwaves, tiny patterns of electrical signals that reflect different mental states like focus, calm, or stress.

The Muse headband, used in this experience, is a lightweight EEG headset designed for everyday use. It tracks the brain’s electrical activity in real time and can translate it into audio or visual feedback. Originally developed as a meditation aid, Muse helps users build awareness of their mental state and train their brain for better focus, relaxation, and emotional regulation.

The Muse headband is non-invasive, easy to wear, and used in settings ranging from personal wellness to research and creative technology experiences. We are using the Muse headset in this experience to personalize the audio visual content and to better understand the impact the experience has on people.

What is a vibroacoustic chair?

Our sculpted chair and foot rest are embedded with advanced vibration technology that turns sound into a physical sensation. This involves low-frequency sound and gentle full-body vibration that you experience through contact with the surface of the chair.

Do I need to prepare for my Emergence session?

To ensure accurate EEG readings, please avoid heavy oils, creams, or makeup on your forehead before your visit—arriving with a clean forehead allows the headset to work optimally. We also recommend wearing comfortable clothing, so you can fully relax and enjoy the sensory immersion.

Who is Emergence not suitable for?

Emergence is not suitable for individuals who are pregnant, have photosensitive epilepsy, experience vertigo, or have other sensitivities to pulsing lights.

What access modifications are available?

The experience has been designed to be accessible to as many people as possible. This includes wheelchair users, those using mobility aids, those with visual or hearing impairments and sensory diverse populations. Staff on site can help tailor your experience to some sensory needs.
