How it works

Step 1: Discover Your Scent Profile
Your journey begins with our 113 Spring x EveryHuman questionnaire. EveryHuman's proprietary AI, Algorithmic Perfumery, uses your answers to understand your inner self and preferences, creating 3 unique scent formulas just for you.

Step 2: Experience Your Scent
After creating your unique formulas, we will produce your scents to test on-site. This is a real-time sensory experience where you can see which fragrance truly resonates.

Step 3: Make It Yours
With the guidance of a trained Scent Guide, you'll fine-tune the formula to create a scent that truly reflects your emotions and inner state. This collaborative process ends with you taking home two additional 5ml scents, each one a unique expression of who you are.

Step 4: Visualize Your Scent
In a private room, experience your chosen fragrance while wearing an EEG headband. As you engage your senses, watch your brain's real-time response transform into a unique visualization, capturing the emotional landscape of your present moment and offering insight into how your mind interprets scent.

Step 5: Complete Your Journey
Your experience concludes with a functional beverage paired with your scent profile, allowing you to reflect on your journey and savor the connection between taste and scent.

The science

Smell is unique among the senses—its signals travel directly to the brain’s emotional and memory centers, shaping how we feel before we even consciously identify an aroma. This direct route is why scents can instantly evoke vivid emotions and memories [Soudry et al., 2011; Herz, 2016]. Individual differences in genetics, culture, and experience mean each person’s emotional response to fragrance is truly personal, and even identical twins often detect different odors [Mainland et al., 2014; Ferdenzi et al., 2011].

Mind-Scent uses EEG technology to objectively measure your emotional reactions to fragrance in real time. As you experience each custom scent, your brain’s response is translated into a dynamic visualization—making your invisible emotional shifts visible and unique to you [Fang et al., 2025; Davidson, 1992]. This approach allows you to see how scent can guide your state of mind, providing a personalized and scientifically grounded window into your emotional landscape.

This experience blends scent creation with neuroscience. As you experience your custom scents, EEG technology interprets your real-time emotional responses and transforms them into dynamic, personalized visualizations. This means each scent’s effect on your emotional state is captured and made visible in the moment—offering you a unique, tangible insight into how scent shapes your feelings. No two emotional fingerprints are alike; your results are entirely yours.

What is an EEG headset?

An EEG headset is a device that measures electrical activity in the brain. It does this using sensors placed on the scalp that detect brainwaves, tiny patterns of electrical signals that reflect different mental states like focus, calm, or stress.

The Muse headband, used in this experience, is a lightweight EEG headset designed for everyday use. It tracks the brain’s electrical activity in real time and can translate it into audio or visual feedback. Originally developed as a meditation aid, Muse helps users build awareness of their mental state and train their brain for better focus, relaxation, and emotional regulation.

The Muse headband is non-invasive, easy to wear, and used in settings ranging from personal wellness to research and creative technology experiences. We are using the Muse headset in this experience to personalize the audio visual content and to better understand the impact the experience has on people.

Do I need to prepare for my session?

For the scent creation portion, we recommend arriving without wearing strong fragrances or perfumes to ensure you can fully experience your custom scents. For the EEG portion, we recommend avoiding heavy oils, creams, or makeup on your forehead before your visit. The EEG headband needs direct contact with your skin, so we may ask you to remove anything that could interfere with the sensors.

Who is it not suitable for?

Mind-Scent with EEG Visualization may not be suitable for individuals with certain neurological conditions, such as epilepsy or those with implanted medical devices like pacemakers, or individuals who have a history of severe fragrance allergies or sensitivities.

Can I bring a friend or book Mind-Scent with EEG Visualization as a group?

While the Mind-Scent experience on its own without the EEG visualization is wonderful for groups, the EEG experience is designed as a personal experience and can only interpret the brainwave activity from one person at a time.
