Details

The body is constantly processing information through sensation, movement, and perception; often far beyond what we consciously notice. Awaken the Intelligent Body invites participants into a guided experiential practice that explores this deeper capacity through movement, sensory awareness, and cacao.

Through a series of exploratory practices, participants are invited to sharpen perception, uncover new layers of physical and emotional awareness, and experience the body not simply as something we inhabit, but as a source of intelligence, curiosity, and discovery.

The session is guided by Florencia Fridman, entrepreneur, co-founder of Cacao Lab, and self-empowerment artist whose work bridges ceremonial cacao and embodied practice, alongside Joshua Holland, biohacker, performance trainer, athlete, and Vivo Barefoot ambassador, whose work explores the body’s remarkable capacity for awareness, adaptability, and performance.

How it works

The experience unfolds through a guided sequence designed to gradually awaken sensory awareness and deepen connection with the body:

• Opening introduction and intention setting
• Ceremonial cacao as an entry into the experience
• Guided sensory movement exploration
• Kinesthetic awareness and playful movement exercises
• Moments of blindfolded exploration to heighten non-visual senses
• Sound, scent, and sensory stimulation integrated throughout the session

Participants move through the experience at their own pace within a supportive and exploratory group environment.

The Science

At the core of the practice is the cultivation of two key sensory capacities:

Interoception — awareness of internal bodily sensations
Exteroception — awareness of external stimuli and the surrounding environment

By engaging both dimensions of perception through movement and sensory exploration, participants can uncover deeper layers of physical and emotional awareness while strengthening their relationship with the body.

The practice also has the potential to develop kinesthetic awareness, inviting participants to explore how the body senses, moves, and responds in space.

What makes this unique?

This experience marks a pilot presentation at 113 Spring, offering participants the opportunity to engage with a new embodied format centered on perception, movement, and sensory awareness.

Unlike more passive wellness experiences, Awaken the Intelligent Body places the body at the center of the exploration. By combining ceremonial cacao with guided sensory movement, it creates a rare space where participants can engage awareness through curiosity, play, and embodied discovery.
